What will your family receive at Sunrise Montessori?
Communication: We go above and beyond for our families! When your child enrolls, you'll receive a Welcome Packet unique to your child's classroom so you can learn more about their daily class schedule and a biography on each teacher. The teachers also email aWeekly Update so you can find out what the children have been working with in class as well as a monthly Newsletter filled with pictures of the children learning in the mornings and having fun in the afternoons. There are two Parent-Teacher Conferences a year so you can not only find out how your child is doing academically and socially, but also see pictures and samples of work from the previous six months. Once your child has been at Sunrise Montessori for a year, you will notice big strides in abilities and be able to track it with your teacher in your child's Progress Folder! We also offer Teacher Talk Times where you can schedule a private, uninterrupted conversation on the phone with your child's teacher to discuss any concerns or just see how s/he is doing. And of course, you can always ask your teacher how your child is doing anytime.
Customer Service: Either our Director or Assistant Director is always on hand to greet you in the morning, say goodbye when you leave, and available to answer any questions you may have. Our teachers will greet you by name, even those not working with your child. We are a small school which makes it easier to get to know everyone. With the way we stagger our staff schedules, the Lead Teachers are present early in the morning and the Assistant Teachers stay later in the day. Why do we do this? So that your child has a consistent, regular caregiver in their classroom.
Individual and Group Montessori Education: Montessori credentialed teachers will guide your child through individualized lessons at his or her pace as well as a daily large group lesson called Circle Time. During Circle Time, children greet each other, receive a grace and courtesy lesson (manners), discuss the calendar, and sing songs, plus the teacher offers a lesson on new materials entering the classroom. To keep their minds fertile, we cultivate the children's educational environment by rotating work materials housed in our large storage room several times a month, so there is always something new to engage your child’s interest. Sunrise Montessori teachers work daily with our children to channel their growing independence into positive lifelong work habits. In simple terms, we teach the executive skill of how to learn, a major indicator of future success in school and the workplace.
Nurturing Staff: Receiving a high quality education is obviously part of what you are looking for when you seek out a school for your child, but there is something else Sunrise Montessori offers that you can feel good about. Our staff is selectively hired and only the best are allowed to work with, encourage and nurture your child. We offer our staff members high pay, paid medical insurance and holidays, as well as bonuses and other incentives. We tell them often that we appreciate their dedicated efforts. Creating a workplace culture of supported and valued employees translates into more open and nurturing teachers! We strive to give your family the best of what is possible in a Montessori preschool environment and believe you receive much more than what you pay for.
