Parent TestimonialsI wanted to share how much your program has meant to us. My son, Ty, has thrived while in the care of his teachers. I can't begin to tell you the vast changes in him in the six months we have been with you. When we made the switch from traditional daycare to your school, we had no idea how great the difference would be. Walking into the classroom was a wake up call for me. It was so peaceful. Though the children were working and playing together, the usual choas I was used to was missing. I have seen that everyday now for six months and it still astounds me. It seems that each day Ty comes home with new phrases, words, songs, art and stories that cause my husband and I to turn to each and shake our heads. We are amazed at his vocabulary and his sincere caring for other people. At dinner last night I was chilly and must have made the "burr.." sound. My soon to be 4 year old got up from the table, got his coat and brought it to me and said, "Here Mommy, this will keep you warm." The other day he asked me who I thought this snowman was. I replied Frosty and he said, "Good guess, Mommy!" He praised me! These amazing moments happen more and more, and I couldn't be happier. The staff has been wonderful and so caring. We have never doubted for a minute that we made the right decision. I only wish we had made the move sooner. Of course then we might not realize what a blessing it is to have him there! Thank you so much for everything you do for our family. ~ Ty’s Mom and Dad I wanted to let you know that we love your school!!! My son has been in daycare since he was seven weeks old and I have never felt so good about leaving him as I do now. At other schools, he has cried when we have left. We haven't had that problem one day that he has gone to Sunrise Montessori. He is excited to go to school everyday. I love that whenever we walk into the classroom there is never chaos, activities are organized and controlled. I think that we will be happy with our son in your care for a long, long time. ~ Crystal S. Sunrise Montessori has been a true blessing to our family. We recently moved to the area from San Antonio in which Loren was attending a very similar type of school to Sunrise. When we first moved here we put Loren in a traditional childcare that stated that they are an “award winning preschool." That couldn’t have been further from the truth. We found within a week of Loren attending that she was extremely bored and unchallenged. This created such a difference in her attitude. When we were in San Antonio she would come home and entertain herself, always smiling and happy, singing, and with tons of new knowledge, politeness, respect, and art work. But over just a week at a “daycare preschool” Loren would come home with a bad attitude, not wanting to go, telling me how much she didn’t like her teachers and the other kids, and all she wanted to do was watch TV. This was not at all like the Loren I knew. This put us on a mission to find a better alternative learning environment. We then looked into the Montessori teachings and philosophy and found Sunrise Montessori. After visiting a few different Montessori schools in the area, our minds were made up the minute we walked into Sunrise. We knew without a doubt that this was the best place for Loren! We have been at Sunrise since August 2007 and it has been truly awesome. It is so homey and clean, and the staff is incredible!! They are great with the kids, caring, clean, and extremely personable. Loren loves going to school everyday and now the dreaded mornings are full of excitement. She is back to her old self again, singing everyday, polite, respectful, happy and smiling, full of great conversation and knowledge, as well as the art work. We are amazed by her everyday when she tells us about the stuff she is learning, for example: germs and good hygiene, geography, as well as not talking to strangers. Sunrise proves to me on a daily basis that we have made the right decision for Loren and it's funny because sometimes we forget that we are talking to a 3 ½ yr old. We also have another child and even though she only 5 months old, she is already in line to attend Sunrise Montessori when she turns 3. Thank you to all of the staff at Sunrise Montessori for making us feel so welcome and comforted knowing that our Loren is getting a great foundation and is in great hands on a daily basis. ~ Loren’s Mom and Dad, December 2007 Our daugther, Isa, has attended Sunrise Montessori since it's opening in September of 2006 and she is a thriving, happy child who loves to learn. She had attended regular daycare programs and was doing fine but we felt that she was not being challenged enough in the standard daycare setting and the constant turnover of care takers in her daycare was concerning. Once I started reading about the Montessori teaching method I knew that this was the type of environment I wanted her to be in. The self-motivated learning approach and fostering of independence, respect and care for others and the environment are all part of the Montessori method that made perfect sense to me. After touring several Montessori schools in the area, I was extremely happy to find Sunrise. Unlike the other Montessori schools, it seemed very homey, non-intimidating, and clean. I immediately felt comfortable leaving my daughter. The quality of care and education is outstanding and all the teachers and staff at Sunrise are phenomenal. It is truly amazing to see a room full of 3 and 4 year-olds in a quiet setting and each child is engaged in an educational activity working with the Montessori materials. I also love the wide variety of extra curricular activities in the afternoons from computer class to music and dance or Spanish. Our decision to enroll her at Sunrise gets validated daily as she shows off new words, phrases, songs, numbers, letters or witty remarks. She has blossomed into a happy, smart, confident and caring person. But the biggest validation is that going to school is fun for her and a deep love for learning is the best foundation we could ever want for her. ~ Isa’s Mom and Dad, December 2007
~ Olivia’s Mom and Dad Skyler has been with Sunrise since it first opened in September of 2006. We have been so pleased and could not imagine her going elsewhere. The teachers and staff have been so supportive and truly, truly caring. Occasionally she will do or say something unexpected from a 3 year old and I will ask where she heard or learned it and she will say, "At school". And it's not just her level of "academic" knowledge that amazes me, but also the day to day behavioral interactions. Saying please, thank you and yes (vs. yeah) are all things we emphasize at home but are also carried over at school. Of course our children are always "perfect angels" in our own eyes but we all know and experience true toddler behavior. The teachers and staff at Sunrise have been very instrumental and supportive during the not so angelic periods as well as with the growing needs of our children (hiccups in potty training, etc). I think it's because they recognize each child as an individual yet at the same time remain focused on the class as a whole. It's an immense task they execute very well. I'm also very pleased with how Sunrise takes care of their teachers. Not only is Sunrise a great place for our children but also a great place to work. Thank you for all you do and will continue to do. ~ Skyler's Mom After doing a lot of research and touring several preschools and mommy's day out programs in the area, we decided Sunrise Montessori was the best place for our preschool age children to flourish. We have not been disappointed. In fact, Sunrise has exceeded our expectations. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the facility is warm and inviting. We believe in the Montessori approach to children's learning and have seen both of our children demonstrate new skills and knowledge since attending Sunrise. Our oldest child, Amelia, started kindergarten in Round Rock this year and was more than prepared (academically and socially) for it. Our 4 year old, Lincoln, always looks forward to getting up and going to school. He loves his teacher and, of course, all of his friends. ~ Juan (Verizon Tech Guru) and Toni (Elementary Teacher) I wanted something more than the usual "crowd control" most daycares provide. I wanted my son to develop a real love of learning while still having fun and that's exactly what Sunrise Montessori has given us. He loves his teachers and is really thriving on the "let me try" learning method. ~ Justin’s Mom The decision to transfer Trevor to another school was a very hard one. He was at a childcare center that was loving and nurturing, but it didn't offer the total environment I was searching for. After researching and visiting several Montessori schools, I found Sunrise and from the moment I walked in to tour, I knew it was special. That was June 2007, and six months later, I know I made the right decision. Trevor is flourishing and learning so much AND having a lot of fun. His teachers are caring, patient and knowledgeable. He comes home with new words and songs on a daily basis. When I drop Trevor off for school, he can't wait to get in to see his teacher and that gives me a great sense of peace. Thank you Sunrise for doing such an outstanding job with our children. ~ Trevor's Mom I could not be more thrilled with the progress that my son has made in the short time he has attended Sunrise Montessori! It is great to see teachers who are passionate about what they do. The end result speaks for itself every day through my child! ~ Clay’s Mom My husband and I have been looking for a place like Sunrise for our son. We wanted to find a place that was more like a school than a daycare. Also, we wanted a place where the teachers seemed like they actually enjoyed working there. Sunrise has offered our son an educational environment with a loving and happy staff. He is happy and is learning new things everyday. We have also found a community of parents that care so much about their children and want to share their gifts with others. We feel blessed to have our son at Sunrise. ~ Noah’s Mom (Attorney) and Dad (Tech Guru)
~ John’s Dad The Montessori philosophy encompasses a nontraditional learning style where the teacher teaches the main concepts and encourages children to help each other as they master various learning activities. While this may not seem like a big deal to some, let me share with you the profound impact that has had on my two 3 year old twins. I took my children to a Chick Filet for lunch and they were playing on the indoor play equipment with 5 other children of various ages. One child younger than mine was having difficulty climbing on the apparatus and my daughter, on the level above this child, reached her hand down and said "here, let me help you!" and she proceeded to help this younger child up to the next level. A few minutes later, my daughter was struggling to get higher on the apparatus and reached up to a girl that was 5 years old and asked "please help me"....as she reached out her hand for some help. The 5 year old girl replied, "no way" and turned her back and proceeded on about her business. At the profound age of 3, my children have learned to help one another, especially when they see another struggling. My children are constantly thinking of each other, helping each other and other children in all areas of play and interaction. They proudly exhibit a sense of independence and accomplishment at doing things for themselves and helping others. They have a genuine joy for learning. All of these, they learned from Sunrise Montessori and their loving teaching staff. I am happy with Sunrise over other Montessoris I've tried and evaluated based on the warmth of the staff and the family atmosphere amongst the parents. We all have a vested interest and desire to work together to make this the best place for our children. I've not seen this type of "partnership" anywhere. The openness you and the staff have make all the difference in the world. ~ Tracy Cranford (Dell Executive) The greatest thing that I can say about Sunrise Montessori is that my daughter wakes up everyday and can't wait to go to school. She loves her teachers, classmates, and the great environment that Sunrise has created. We notice nearly everyday that she has learned something new - a song, new words, or a new skill. Having our child in a Montessori environment is very important to my husband and I. We love Sunrise because it provides the Montessori education that we want as parents - and the fun, nurturing environment that my child truly enjoys. ~ Mackenzie’s Mom

After much searching for the right preschool, I toured Sunrise Montessori. It was full of fun, light, cleanliness and love. This is where I wanted my son to be. It was love at first sight for Parker. His first day dawned bright and clear and... not once did I hear, "I don't want to go to school." I picked him up that first day and he was full of joy and excitement and wanted to share his day with me. Many times. Then over dinner he showed me the sign language he'd learned that day. That brought tears to my eyes... Was this school as wonderful as I hoped and dreamed?? Only time can tell. It has been a week now and he not cried once, but was actually disappointed it was the weekend and couldn't go to school. The quality of instruction, the nurturing environment, the clean and well ordered facilities, and the sense of fun has made Parker enthusiastic for learning at his "brand new school." I have noticed he now struts around the place like he belongs. ~ Shermance, mother of Parker, age 3

I was eager and excited to have my children in a Montessori learning environment. However, when I found Sunrise Montessori, I found much more than just a Montessori school. All schools are not created equal. At Sunrise the environment was cheerful, happy and nurturing. The classrooms are FULL of activities that would challenge my girls. I found it a perfect place where my girls could grow, explore, and learn. The staff at Sunrise has proven to be the best I have encountered in any preschool environment. They are knowledgeable educators who guide and nurture the children throughout the day. My children have learned a lot in the 12 months that they have been enrolled. ~ Madison and Megan's Mom (Dell Executive) When Marcus first started at Sunrise as a four year old, I was concerned about him being in a class with younger children. Would he get the academics he needed, too? It's almost a year later and my worries are no longer there. Marcus has grown and matured a lot in this past year, becoming more independent and self-sufficient. He loves all his friends and his teacher. Best of all, he not only knows the general basics like numbers and letters, but has "wowed" us by knowing the states and their capitals. The Montessori environment has benefited him and I'm glad I gave it a chance. ~ Marcus' Mom
~ Ian's Mom & Dad We have a five year old in Kindergarten that was at Sunrise for her Pre-K year. What a great impact it had on her! She went into Kindergarten knowing her letters and had many skills that she acquired through the fun songs and activities that she did at Sunrise. We currently have our 3 year enrolled and in just a few months, she can count by 10's to 100, sing the months of the year, and knows the seasons song. She will be way ahead of the game when she goes to Kindergarten. All of the teachers are wonderful and they really know how to love and teach children. Sunrise is the place to be! ~ Emily and Megan's Mom (Teacher) and Dad (School Administrator)
THANK YOU for everything you've done for Evan! We are so proud that Evan has been enrolled since Day 1 of Sunrise being open. Thank you for working with us when Evan had challenging days. I put together a small bag of arts and crafts goodies for the teachers with my thanks and love. ~ Evan's Mom
